Being set in superb woodland, there is plenty of shelter from the elements and its only in winter time that the lochs may close due to severe weather. The wildlife adds to the special tranquil atmosphere and while fishing, deer, birdlife, squirrels all can be observed, while spending a relaxing day fishing for Wild Brown Trout, Rainbow, Blues. Stocked with full tailed and fully finned quality fish from 1lb 8ozs to 5lbs being the main stock, as these present better sport for anglers. Some up to double figures will be stocked throughout the year also to add a little spice. Some of the Brown Trout are big having been in there for a very long time from the burns which flow into it,please ensure these are returned very carefully as with any fish. All catches are recorded and there is a good restocking programme for the water, but like all fishing, you need to catch them.We do not allow the use of indicators on this fishery it is strictly, natural fly fishing only.
It is a popular beauty spot and has scenic walks which many enjoy around the loch and it is a clean and well kept water, which those who use it respect. The wildlife is spectacular and enjoyable to see with deer, squirrels, ospreys, pine martins to name but a few. CCTV cameras are placed around the lochs for anglers safety and staff are available through out the day or can be contacted at any time on telephone numbers which are signposted around the area also. If you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle, you wont be disappointed here.It is a mystical place to be and one which we want to keep as it is.
All consideration must be given to other anglers at all times and we ask that anglers move frequently so as others can enjoy the fishing and lochs also.We will ask you to move if we feel you have been anchored too long in one position.
The aim of this water is so as people can enjoy a pleasing ,peacefull day fishing for the sport of fly fishing and enjoy the surroundings which are second to none.It is not about the biggest fish or the number of fish here but the sport, which is first class.Respect of the lochs and other anglers at all times is requested by the fishery.
