Booking and Prices
These lochs are not commercialised and are there for the sport of fly fishing using traditional methods and the peace and tranquillity in which to enjoy them.
To book contact the Glen Of Rothes trout fishery only.Telephone number is on main page.We will require a contact number from you on booking.
All keys are collected at the Glen of Rothes trout fishery but returned at Millbuies fishery.Bookings are taken by phone upto 4pm each day.
Due to Health and safety and Insurance,we do not allow any person under the age of 12 years old out in the boats.
Fishing Prices and Timings.
There is 2 sessions per day only.
8.30am to 4pm mon to sun(That's 4pm on the jetty)
4.30pm to 10pm mon to sun(10pm on the jetty as gates close at 10.30pm)
Finishing times are on the jetty as the park closes at 10 30pm each night and the entrance is locked to the car park.
Single person in boat all sessions, £22.50 plus £5 boat fee
2 persons in a boat all sessions, £22.50 each plus £5 boat fee(the boat fee is split between anglers so each would be £25)
Please note any non fishers in boat a £5 payment is required as they are using the facilities, even though they may not be fishing.We also need to know who is in the boats for safety reasons,so please do NOT just assume you can take another person on the boats for free.The lochs are for fishing and angling only.
You are allowed 2 fish to be taken this may include 1 blue only and 1 rainbow or 2 rainbows of your choice.ALL brown trout must be returned to the water.When releasing fish ,PLEASE keep them in the water and not in boat as it damages the fish and we want the quality to be first class at all times.
We require any cancellations of 24 hours notice.Under this, we expect a 50% deposit to be paid as we will have lost that boat for the session.If not paid you will not get a boat on the loch in the future.
Rules on the lochs
Everything you require is in the boat shed,oars,bailers etc.Please lock shed before you go out on the boats.
Strictly NO indicators allowed
NO trolling,NO snakes or Booby Flies allowed to be used.
Do not tie boats up on orange bouy or poles in top loch.
Keep anchors attached to boat at all times and do not tie knots in the rope.
Do not sit in one spot all day and be aware of other boats and drifts.
PLEASE keep all released fish in the water and NOT in boat before releasing.
ALL brown trout must be released.
Do Not throw litter into the lochs and take all line and litter away with you and leave boats clean and tidy for next anglers to go out.
When finished your session ,ensure that all boats are secured with chain to the boat and locked securely and also Gate is locked if you are the last boat in.Ensure shed is locked also.
PLEASE NOTE:_ ALL damage is to be paid for so please respect the equipment and boats.
Anyone caught breaking any of the rules will NOT be given a boat in the future it is a one chance only on the lochs.Work with us to work with you.
Millbuies trout fishery is set in the most scenic and peacefull of locations.16 acres of fly only water with free rising Brown,Rainbow and Blues.It is a traditional method loch,fishing is from 5 boats only with no bank fishing at all.
It is surrounded by tree lined banks which offer the fish plenty of natural feeding.
The wildlife here is exceptional,with red squirrels,ducks,woodpeckers,owls and occasionaly the Osprey.Deer will come down to the water to drink.
Spending a day on the water is one not to miss as not just the fishing but to relax and observe wildlife in peacefull surroundings,it will take you into another world.
It truelly is one of Scotlands hidden gems.
